What is a "Trek Family?"

Each young man or young woman will be assigned to a Trek Family. The Stake Presidency has carefully selected the "Ma's and Pa's" from throughout the stake. These individuals will lead your family for the duration of the Trek. Other members of your Trek Family will be other young men and young women from the different wards of the stake. There will be about 10 members in each family.

How do I find a pioneer name and story?

If you have an ancestor that was a pioneer who crossed the plains, you may walk for them on Trek and be prepared to share their story with your trek family. If you need help researching, please contact Sr. Tippetts (annamaetippetts@gmail.com). For those that do not have an ancestor that was part of this pioneer group, we recommend walking for a pioneer in your own family that faithfully set out on a new path of any kind.

What is the dress code?

Our youth committee decided to wear pioneer dress. See “Trek Clothing.” We encourage youth to dress in pioneer clothes but don’t let that be a reason not to come. Remember that we are embarking on a pioneer Trek and we have to carry and pull everything so ONLY BRING what is necessary.

Can youth bring friends on Trek?

We welcome friends as long as they keep the Church standards.  Know that your friends will not be assigned the same family as you, but they will make lots of new friends.
